As part of the SOS Central Asia initiative funded by a Hong Kong based private foundation, a Call for Proposals is now open, which is designed to support implementation of the Program of Work of the Central Asian Mammals Initiative (CAMI) of the Convention on Migratory Species (CMS). As such, SOS Central Asia focuses on Goitered Gazelle (Gazella subgutturosa) and Snow Leopard (Panthera uncia). By focussing on these species, which have complementary ranges, the initiative ensures that grants will benefit large parts of Central Asia’s most important ecosystems: high mountains and lowland steppes and semi-deserts. This Call is accepting proposals targeting the conservation of the above-mentioned species and their habitats in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
