We’re looking for a group of dedicated, professional and knowledgeable volunteers to serve as Technical Reviewers of Forum’s event proposals. This is a wonderful opportunity to help support and shape the upcoming IUCN World Conservation Congress.
Support and shape the 2016 IUCN Congress
For the upcoming IUCN World Conservation Congress, IUCN selects over 500 events to be part of the Forum, a hub of public debate over the first four days of the Congress about solutions to the world’s most pressing conservation and sustainability challenges.
The quality of the Forum depends on the quality of the events, and Volunteer Technical Reviewers are an invaluable resource in helping select the best of the 1000+ event proposals received through the Call for Contributions.
Three individuals independently read and score each proposal to ensure a fair and objective review and selection process. IUCN constituents proudly rise to the challenge every four years and offer their assistance in this important task. For this Congress, we are hoping to have you sign up as a volunteer Technical Reviewer!
A manageable task
The Technical Review process is done entirely online. Reviewers access the proposals assigned to them from anywhere, anytime they have internet access, during the “review period”. This provides the ultimate flexibility for experts with busy schedules. Reviewers will have 15 days to read and score the proposals assigned to them. Each proposal takes approximately 10 minutes (on average) to read and score. Reviewers would be expected to read about 18 applications over the 15-day review period, although we can adapt this to the time each reviewer might have.
How to apply
Please share this information with colleagues who might be interested in reviewing as well.
Thank you very much for your support. We look forward to having you in the Forum Technical Review Team!
