Global Re-introduction Perspectives: 2011, is the third book in a series of case study publications from the IUCN SSC Re-introduction Specialist Group (RSG). Covering 24 different countries and a range of taxonomic groups, the case studies provide valuable advice that will benefit future re-introduction projects.
This latest book from the RSG features case studies involving plants, mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish and invertebrates. The projects have also been classified by the degree of their success so that factors that lead to the success or failure of a project are identified and can be replicated or avoided in the future.
There are now a total of 184 case studies published by the RSG covering many regions and species. The development of any re-introduction or translocation project can therefore gain advice from consulting any one of the three re-introduction case study books now available. These publications are available to download from the RSG website or the IUCN website.
Global Re-introduction Perspectives: 2011 was produced with the support of the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi and the Denver Zoological Foundation.
