Conservation organizations in Madagascar are usually unable to effectively communicate their work to local, national, and international audiences due to a lack of capacity. There is also a great lack of education and information about lemurs, their importance, and conservation programs to the Malagasy population in their native language. The Lemur Conservation Network aims to help these organizations amplify their reach.
- Strengthen the capacity of seven Malagasy organizations so they can provide more awareness on lemurs and increase the impact of their conservation projects;
- Use education and communication tools to motivate local communities to actively participate in conservation efforts.
- Provide trainings in communication, education and outreach to be used with the local communities surrounding 16 project sites;
- Train staff on business tools in order to improve the effectiveness of each organization.
